Cognitec showcases its FaceVACS-Entry product, a slim, light-weight device suitable for installations in eGates, on agency desks and in kiosks. The technology takes standards-compliant biometric photos, and compares the images to digital facial images retrieved from ID documents or databases. Instant camera positioning, active lighting and responsive user guidance lead to optimal capturing conditions, accurate verification results and fast processing times. The system serves all applications that require the acquisition of standards-compliant photos and the verification of probe images against a live image, including access or border control scenarios, and entry/exit programs. In just a few seconds, travelers can complete all border procedures in a self-service setting!FaceVACS-Entry takes biometric photos, and allows for their comparison against facial images retrieved from ID documents or databases. The device detects the face, adjusts the position of the camera according to the person’s height, captures best-quality portraits, and verifies the person's identity. Animated user guidance directs the user to quickly assume the correct position in front of the camera.
